How to make a gel manicure last three full weeks

A short guide to the small habits that keep gel from lifting, peeling, or fading on you.

Gel polish should hold up for two or three weeks on most clients. When it lifts early, it is almost always one of three things.

Skip the cuticle oil for the first hour A fresh gel set needs a few minutes for the topcoat to settle. Oil too soon can sneak under the edge. Wait sixty minutes, then start your daily oil routine.

Use gloves for dish soap and cleaners Hot water and soap break gel down faster than you think. Yellow rubber gloves are five dollars at the grocery store. They will buy you another week of clean polish.

Come back for removal Peeling gel off takes the top layer of your nail with it. We soak it off in acetone wraps in about fifteen minutes. Your nails stay smooth and ready for the next set.
